I wonder how many LTL guys went there to get that only to bust out laughing and leave after being told it wasn’t ready?![]()

It's a regular occurrence at this place. It's a cold storage produce warehouse. I think they get stuff in from all over the world and resell it. I've picked up produce there that I have never seen or heard of before, really strange looking items. What I can't understand is why pick up appointments are given when they have no intention of keeping them.
I could understand if product still had to be processed and they fell behind, but everything they sell is already boxed up and ready to go. Throw it on a pallet, quick shrink wrap and out the door. At my last warehouse job if I took longer than 20 minutes to build and wrap 3 pallets I would be written up and facing dismissal.MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
Easy there big spender, no way I would give a truck stop even $1 If I knew there was free parking nearby...even if that parking was a dust bowl with no restroom facilities.

I have yet to try the Indian place in Indy. I know you said it was OK, but that whole area looks too seedy for me to even get out of my truck much less eat there. You are far more adventurous than I.ExtremeUnction Thanks this. -
I was highly ticked off, but its just not worth it. That mechanic could be best friends with someone high up in a close knit company such as this one and I have no intention of losing my job over a dirty truck. It doesn't look so bad now as I finally caught some rain in Chicago of all places.
As long as I can keep the interior spotless I'm good. I even got a compliment from a Canadian customs officer that searched my cab last week. He said it was very rare to see a truck as neat and clean inside as mine was.
I suppose he does see some real horror shows though.

i can only imagine...

We have our share of pigs too. I have to wonder if they live that way.

Ah, the Colton drop yard.

I pay for parking a couple times per month on average. I like my creature comforts, and thanks to PFJ's loyalty card, I can usually pay for parking with points I've earned from buying fuel on Abilene's nickel.
Man, one night I parked at the Speedway across the street and walked over to the Indian restaurant at 9:30pm. It's safe as houses.Redtwin Thanks this. -
You must walk with a pimp swagger so the prostitutes and other miscreants leave you alone.ExtremeUnction and Barn Door Bill Thank this.
