Master Yoda...have you never crossed El Cajon coming out of California? I can remember 12 yrs ago that the secret was on that might ascent and the descent also I might add to stay in the middle lane and watch the scales carefully. They are halfway up or down, depending on your travel, and can only hold about 8 trucks. You can usually avoid the stopping at the scales if you time it right....lol. I also remember everytime I ever crossed that mountain that there were cars broke down from overheating every half mile to mile on both sides. The tow truck operators made a killing on that mountain.

all these mountains have there own lil piece of crap
the california mountain grades are not as bad as wyoming
but the length is tiresome
12-14 miles up isnt any fun
while either side of Laramie can be a lil daunting in snow and wind
coming down from Park City to SLC is tricky mostly because of the local trucks
10-15 above speed limit
but i will take all those hills compared to driving 80 from Joliet to Gary
and down towards Indy
they think they are on the Nascar circuit draftingDevilDog79 and bulldog522002 Thank this. -
What is the mountain in Wyoming that has a bust of Lincoln at the top in a Rest Area??? Is it Mt Sherman? Of course it has been twelve yrs since I kast drove but my trainer back then was based out of Portland Ore and Jubitz truckstop. He had a dedicated West Coast run to Cleveland where we would pick up a load from Con-Way, I think it was and run hard to getnit back to the West Coast, I can't remember where we dropped that trailer by friday aftermoon.Lil America was a favored stop for showers and chow

Well I decided to finish up a reset. It will be up at 4:15 in the morning richmond time. But as we all know I need two 1-5am time periods before I can move. God only knows that extra 45 minutes will make all the difference in the world. I have an 11am delivery, I'll leave at 5:15 am my time and drive the 260 miles to delivery. Brandon will be done with his reset at 11am.

My wife and delivered Reno and then Sacramento last Sunday. She took over after Reno and was supposed to wake me up before Donner since it was going to be her first time over that pass. Wasn't really worried cause she has driven most of the other talked about passes since she got her CDL last August. I woke up just before Sacramento and wanted to know what happened to Donner? She said go back to sleep she must have missed it lol.

My wife did a similar one in February. Told her to wake me up in Missoula so I could be up with her going into Idaho (snowing pretty good at this point) and when I woke up we were in Spokane. Asked her why she didn't wake me up and she said concentrating on the pass was more important
Well played girl, I said... in my mind... !###***&# ... (many scared expletives) she is trying to kill me -
my wife doesnt drive
and if the driving gets bad she goes to the sleeper
and closes the curtainjungHo Thanks this. -
Once kids are out of the house I would love to learn how to drive a big truck. But by then I think it will be more fun to just sit back and let yoda drive me across country and make the $. U all be safe out there.
JohnBoy Thanks this.
