I am sure missing a semi standardized truck and trailer fleet...

their trucks must be an inch or more higher than ours as we must hand crank the weight off the landing gear Each and every time... today it was like 5” higher than my fifth wheel... ya, 38k of milk doesn’t move easily.

    And sometimes they crank clockwise,
And other times it’s counter clockwise.

and one never knows until you can see you are moving the load... :-(

yesterday one of our guys smacked his sleeper into the trailer because it was so high and totally missed his fifth wheel ... bent up his rails a bit... I really felt bad for him as he takes great care of his truck... clean floors, polished wheels... says he gets it washed in RVA every week... and then this... crunch.

Keep the updates coming. It makes my decision to not get involved with this much more acceptable.

I’m hoping my first load next week has nothing to do with saving the country from this pandemic. I’m hoping for a pin resetting machine for a bowling alley that needs to go back to the manufacturer for warranty work.

But I got a free lunch... lol

When it’s flowing, it’s not too bad... but their trailers are frustrating at times... like this morning... now had a Company Driver look at it... (they are actually very nice and helpful) ... not any better luck... he told me to grab a yard dog... he’s looked at it... guess he is calling the shop now... so here I sit... it all pays the same but now it’s going to be later when I finally get back here tonight.

but ya, helping keep the shelves stocked, people from panicking... and our efforts are greatly appreciated... Blah blah blah

    :D

It might be the yard dogs cranking them.

That's what I was thinking, the yard spotter is doing that, for whatever reason.

Vic Firth and Finfn1372 Thank this.
