Thankfully that concept isn’t catching on at Shippers... LOL ... can you imagine the increase in refused loads???

Did you at least go to the right side of the street?

I've been there three times and I've picked the wrong facility each time.

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Yup, going to Sulligent. Told me to use a reefer, so going to take a wild guess I might be going to Forrest City with it.

They got a warehouse right across the street from the plant.

First time I went there, I went to the plant, because that was the address on the load assignment. They told me I needed to go to the warehouse across the street.

Second time I went there, I said "Okay, I'm gonna go to the warehouse across the street first." Turns out I needed to go to the plant.

Third time I went to the plant, found out I needed to be at the warehouse.

Delivery address in load assignment and on BOL was the same all three times.

My Hill-Phoenix delivery to Thousand Oaks has turned out to be a trucking adventure.

Woke up in Barstow at 3:00am local time this morning with an 8:00am delivery appointment. Five hours to make a three hour drive. No problem.

Got to Palmdale and discovered that the main truck route is closed.

Pulled over, looked at the map, found what I thought was a truck-safe route around the closed road. Started going down that route, discovered the "No trucks" sign once I was past the point of no return. Oops.

Welp, no help for it. Only option was to brazen my way through and hope for the best.

Fortunately the trip turned out to be uneventful...until I ran into another "road closed" sign.

Marked out another route trying to get past the closed road. This route also happened to have a "No trucks" sign, but by this point I figured I didn't have much choice. Got all the way to where this route was supposed to reconnect to the closed road, and once again ran into a closed road.

So I said "screw it" and called the sheriff's dept. Found out where the road reopened and where I needed to go to get there. Wasted about half-an-hour dealing with that mess.

Arrived on site an hour-and-a-half early. Found the contractors.

    I'm a month early.

There is a whole lot more construction that needs to take place at this site before they will be ready to install the coolers I have brought, so the current plan (still pending approval from HQ) is to take these coolers to the contractor's shop in Chino.

This right here! Gotta love it. And, surprise, surprise, isn’t Abilene’s fault. Hill is famous for sending out stuff that is too early. I’ve heard Harvey say a few choice words a time or two because we were early due to Hills scheduling. And you had an adventure getting there on top of it all. I say after they figure out what you need to do with them, you call it a day and go have a beer (or three).
