If waiting meant being late...on my first ever run...for one of our top customers...the one i was told to never be late for if I wanted to keep my job then yeah, I would have stuck enough in the tank to get there.

Used it many times both at the yard and T stops. The issue was that i was still showing on a trainer's truck AND my newly assigned truck.
Wonder if I will get two checks next payday?Lonesome Thanks this. -
But who cares about "valid excuses" when the driver can step up to save the delivery, and get reimbursed for it.
Like I said, depends on the load and I sure would not top off the tanks...
But sometimes we need to be part of the solution... "Valid Excuse" or not... LOL -
That's the right way to look at it... And then I would be bending the ear of someone at Richmond to see that it didn't happen again.
But the customer was served first. -
Apparently there is no excuse this customer considers valid. A couple hundred bucks would have done the trick. I wouldn't have topped up tanks and DEF.

The most I will pay for is a turn signal bulb. Anything else the company can pay for.
-
I'm sorry but I'm not paying for fuel. It would just be late.

I got my 5th wheel to slide finally today. Now, my first painted pln is in the last painted hole. Got a load of water out of Reading to Gordonsville. I'll scale in the AM.
-
Ya, good luck with that... LOL
But if you do, first round is on you!!!
Redtwin Thanks this. -
Don't think for a minute i would have gifted the company the fuel

I would most likely have gotten the money back before the CC bill was due.MidWest_MacDaddy and Evomalo Thank this.
