The company sent me to the same place with the exact same doctor that I had seen three months before. I didn't have to pay for either physical so I don't really care but is seems like a waste of money.

The $60 they pay for the physical is nothing compared to a lawsuit from an ambulance chaser or workers comp attorney. Imagine a driver fudges a medical card, gets hired and blacks out behind the wheel killing a family of 4. How many physicals can you buy for that settlement?

My home physical was very intensive. My Swift physical was a joke, my grandfather could have passed it and he died in the seventies. Some people did not pass the Swift one however so it must catch some things. I am not sure how.

I see your point but the second physical didn't prove anything. I picked up a form from the truck company, took it back home with me (2 hours away) then got the physical at my convenience a few days later. I brought the form back when I went to orientation. This one was no more secure than the one a few months ago.

That's just one of those things companies do to show that they "tried", it could limit their liability if they ever get sued. It's kind of funny thought bcause my bosses pitch a fit at spending $200 for a bit of paper, so they started sending us to a facility that tends to let you slide without an eye exam or mobility check. Saved them 'bout 100 bucks though!
