The engine runs a self test then after a few seconds the majority of lights go off you can start it. It also shows when maintenance services it.

You all can be a riot...

I have to put carrots or pumpkins in my tanks every day... Except my Sni rig is white..makes it really #### hard to track down albino carrots and pumpkins.

No, you don't have to wait. When it does that it's only doing a quick systems check for active faults or potential issues with the system to alert you before you get on the road.

If it bothers you that much, then just let it cycle through when you start your day. Otherwise, it takes less than 5 seconds. Patience my friend.

    Wax on. Wax off.

(Sometimes I won't let mine cycle through...and sometimes she reminds me by not even turning over.)

Glow plugs are a real thing. Some manufacturers no longer use them, but some do. If you have a light that looks like the one I attached, you should be waiting for it to go out. Many guys start the truck without waiting, and have no probs, but over time, it is not good, and you will eventually have probs starting it, especially in very cold weather.
