AC help , freightliner cascadia

    Thats mechanically mint truck and thats only thing that has to be fixed

    AC compressor been replaced together with new dryer and 2 hours later driver reported that all works as it should. Fingers crossed to last !
    My other shop never replaced dryer and explained it that only clutch wasn't working and he doesn't always replace it and never had an issue .

    Sounds like you got a fair shake both times. Compressor just went out this time. Maybe caused by heat from the old clutch, maybe just it’s time to go. I’ve had that happen a few times, on the old TCC York style upright compressors. The heat from the bad clutch would usually smoke the aluminum casing, seal, and lock up bearing. If clutch is caught right away, might limit damage, but damage was done. Within 6 mo.s to a year, I’d end up changing the compressor
