Sorry man but those days are over. I grew up the old way too but, you put someone in that kind of situation today you'll get sued and they'll win. Morale of the story don't drive a truck and pick a new career if A/C is an issue.

They're only over if you say so. Ac is a luxury not a requirement.

yea but I got 2 trucks and I would never treat anyone that way. The golden rule, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." Treating people mean and rude is not the way you handle situations and telling someone they can't have A/C in a hot environment is being mean. I don't treat my drivers that way and I wouldn't want to be treated that way.

I would absolutely fix it as soon as possible, I am big on if the truck came with it it should work, but a day or two will not kill him

You guys who don’t care about AC. You’re why they came up with free showers. :)

Same here. At least you folks have the luxury of drving to generate airflow. I'd drive an hour, work in the hot sun for 10 hours and then drive an hour home. Did I mention my home had no A/C and was over 80°F when trying to sleep in summer?

I think your implying to do that deliberately to someone. I wouldn't, BUT I won't pay a shop to fix it. If trucking home a few days without ac is an issue then we need to discuss your job placement.

Just last week I paid a shop to put a seal in my rear end pinion. My brother was on point to bring tools to get the job done ourselves. I should have had my brother come cause I'm redoing it today. I hate shops and I hate people touching my equipment.

But if a driver can't handle a few days without air conditioning then perhaps truckin' isn't the right place for them.

That's why there was never any obese drivers back in the day, you stayed in the truck in puddles of sweat.

This was a win-win for everyone.

$20 at most any truck stop. This will take you from unbearable to bearable.
