This still makes me laugh.... Call me an a-hole if you wish, I'm not ashamed of my hard-earned title. But this guy is what gives legit drivers a bad name. Come on, seriously? Are you that bad at business that you need to cut away a basic operating cost in order to remain profitable? Why not cut out oil changes, instead? The truck runs on oil, right???? LOL

    HalpinUout Thanks this.

Dang that sucks. I used to think insurance was a scam up until I needed it. Glad I kept everything insured or I'd be SOL right now.

It is a scam, at least in Michigan. A few years back, I had the state minimum on a 97 Sonoma I had. It cost me $500 for six months of basic liability, on a truck I only spent $1100 on.
Got rear ended at a stop light, which caused $2300 in damages. Through no fault of my own, my truck was pretty much totaled. The impact broke a tail light bulb, but it also crunched the tailgate shut, so I couldn't replace the bulb. Until I could afford another vehicle, I had to drive without a taillight. State's mini-tort law limits insurance payout to $500, regardless of whose fault it was. So, enough to cover my deductible, assuming I were spending the insane premiums to have full coverage on an $1100 truck. (I think it would have been about $1300 for six months coverage. Retarded.)
Here's where it's a scam. State minimum is coverage for $50,000 property damage. Where does the other $49,500 go!?!?!?
