How could u possibly be platinum status after only 3 months.? You need at least 102,000 miles. No way to get that in 3 months.

Good luck buddy. Hope safety sees it your way, but in the words of the person doing our orientation:
"If a plane falls out of the sky and lands on your truck, it's your fault for not leaving 5 minutes sooner."bluebonn Thanks this. -
Hate to hear that. YES it is your fault as a professional driver. You know they will mearge into you.Pull out in front of you.Expect the expected. YOU know their gonna do that.

And situations like this, and worse, will happen for the OP again, hell,I have only been doing this 7 years, but I would need a ghost writer to put down all the near-miss,and yes,near-death situations I have been in..Be careful..
48Packard Thanks this. -
It's clearly the 4 wheelers fault. Sounds like possibly the passing truck could of read traffic better and let you over. The only thing hurting you is your time behind the wheel.
Possibly your scanning abilities need extended?? That's something that takes time. What I mean by that is I'll watch them turn on the ramp from a distance and the old brain starts working because I know a conflict is coming. One coming down the ramp, truck barreling down in my mirror. I'm going to start making adjustments/decisions then. Maybe put my signal on early and get that other truck to slow down and let me over. Hard to say when I'm not there. But still a yield is a yield. You should come out alright. -
I'm thinking that not getting the accident report might be a bad thing.

I've never heard of the opportunity to get an accident report at the scene of the accident. It's usually the next day or later that you can get it. The LEO has to follow procedures of some sort, I suspect it has to be entered on some other form than what the guy on the scene can do.
With what the OP has said, if Swift, or any other company were to crucify him for what happened, they'd have to be lower lifes that what is thought.
My money is on nothing happening, at least that would be what would happen to me in my company. Oh sure, the owner would likely ask me about it, but certainly not in an accusatory way.
Relax driver, it'll work out for ya. -
My first day in the truck with my mentor a car side swiped us. He went from 1 lane to 4 lane in one shot. I saw it in the corner of my eye and went hard right but wasn't fast enough. No damage to the truck but it ripped off the kids body kit bumper. No police report and he filled out an exhortation in the accident kit. Sent the macro and messaged the DM. No pee test and nothing said and its been a while now. Don't sweat it. If they come down against you then they do. But get that report. You will need it if you go to another company or if the other driver sues.
