If you are asked (and you will be) "What did you do to prevent this crash?" DO NOT simply say, "nothing." You are then admitting fault because you did absolutely nothing to prevent this. You're saying you slowed down. That's good. You should also be saying, "I maintained my lane position for the safety of other traffic not involved and came to a full stop in a safe place" Or some such darn thing.

I watched a court show the other day from one suing the other over a wreck, The driver had her signal on but changed her mind about turning. Meanwhile a guy was doing a Uturn anticipated her turn because of the signal. She won and he lost because there are no laws about having your signal on and not turning. Hence he failured to yield. The same would go true on the ramp. If the driver claimed you had a signal on doesn't give him the right to move into your current space.
I think you'll be alright. Usually they work you towards a terminal quietly if you were in trouble. DHing 560 miles from Walcott?? That's heaven for a meathauler. All kinds of loads within 2 hours.neal79 Thanks this. -
Good advice though, before this even happened I had talked to some other drivers who were in the shop at Memphis for body work and they told me the same thing. One guy even told me how he had insisted the deer had hit him, they would read it back as he hit the deer and he kept correcting them. According to him deer ran right into the side of the cab and thats where his damage was not on the front so I guess thats accurate.
Anyways no preventable yet on my stats and I hope it stays that way. -
If it get assigned as preventable just remember that there is a difference between fault and preventability
