Of course right. Driving a class B water truck locally. Some guy runs straight into my truck trying to exit from the outside lane. Police came, cited other driver for failure to maintain lane position and unsafe lane change.
What reports will show this incident? Was going to get my hireright report, but decided to ask first to the experienced.

If the damage was over a certain amount, you need to have a drug test, or if one of the trucks needed towing. I think it is 3200.00 to make it a DOT reportable event.

Just get a copy of Police Report.
And keep it, in case it comes up in the future.

    Jmans and TequilaSunrise Thank this.

An accident is DOT reportable only if it meets one of the following 3 criteria: A) Someone was injured and needed medical attention away from the scene of the accident. B) Any of the vehicles involved required a tow because it could not be driven from the scene. C) Accident-involved Fatality.

If a police report was made, get a copy of it. The incident may show up on your state MVR, it does here in VA even if you were not at fault. I would not worry about Hireright/DAC. Very important to have a copy of the police report for any future questions/problems

Had dump truck run into back of me, police report made, doesn't show on anything of mine.

Lady ran into back of my truck while I was parked at guard shack, I was in shack at time, lady left in ambulance, police report made, nothing shows up, no drug test, no nothing.

Lady ran into back of me at light, car towed, police report made, nothing shows up on me.

I have the same issue, guy backed out of a driveway on a 2 lane road and I hit him doing 50-55mph. Mine was towed, his was totaled. Never done drug test and don't see it anywhere in my records.

Jmans, roadmap65 and walstib Thank this.
