Just wondering why if a driver gets in to a wreck they get black balled for a minimum of at least a year, for a company that is worth driving for?

Many seen to have this issue.
I have more then 4 million miles in a truck over 28yrs exp. Now haven a hell of a time getting a job due to a NON PREVENTABLE accident, where I was working off a gravel road and the road washed out and I went in to the Ditch. The truck is fine with minor damage to the trailer, and no injuries.

Talking to companies you would think that I totaled out a gas tanker and hit a church bus full of nuns on a mission!
Many good drivers have simular stories, why dose the industry force them out of a career of driving over one mishap they had no control over?

No such thing as black balled in this industry. The insurance industry is running the show.

For the past 6 to 8 months and for the next maybe 18, this is going to be a carrier's market, we have too many drivers, and especially too many crap drivers in the seats of trucks, those who don't give a ****** are being pushed out of the industry by the insurance companies who are telling carriers not to hire them.

Agreed way to many who don't care or can't drive

The company worth driving for fired you for a minor incident. The other companies worth driving for won’t hire you. I think you need to redefine what a good company is. The idea that large companies provide security is false. Plenty of smaller companies that will hire you. Who knows, they may even value you as a worker.

This isn't directed at you, but too many new drivers just graduating from CDL school can't find work because they make ridiculous demands to trucking companies as if the trucking companies should be honored that the student driver will even consider applying there.

I think your reading to much in to what I'm saying here,
The company I was driving for was a good company. looking for a company and not one that is going to hire anyone and bring down your CSA score for having thier name on the door from thier safety record is what I'm talking about.
The point is that the companies and insurance agents have gotten to the point where you should be 100% all the time. Regardless of conditions or Equipment etc.. .If your not, you are not going to get hired. That one 10sec. Of video they have dose not define the entirety of one's career! Over 4 million miles of safe driving. 1 incident is not determining factor as the driver as a whole.
The idea that we are all perfect 100% of the time is absurd, we all have a bad day, moment etc.. with anything in life. And then factor in weather etc. That don't allow you to have a choice. There should be an allowable tolerance for this.
It's not just black or white.
Is I guess what I'm saying.

Oh I agree! When I started it was 0.20 a mile, note I'm old. But when you came out you got what you were offered and that was it. Now student drivers come out and want 2.00 a mile and brand new trucks, we always were offer the worse equipment they had and lowest pay, you earned your place,

My first job was 8.5 cpm and that was with Midwestern Distribution, Ft. Scott, Kansas
No outside lumpers either; driver unload @ $10.00 for the unloading.
It was a start, not a good one, but I just dealt with it.
