the stuff the dairies use for cleaning tanks and lines isn't acid, it's a chloronated akyline solution.
basically really strong bleach, potassium hydroxide, and water.
EYE PROTECTION A MUST HAVE !!! burns the skin and makes a nasty sore... but in your eyes... you're pretty much blind unless you're next to an eye-wash station.
I haul the stuff about once a month out to a creamery. -
i buy acid wash at my local truck parts supplyer 15 bucks a gallon and dilute it about 4:1

Many truck washes are moving away from using it .
