You are not alone in wanting a fresh start. I have a close friend who is a retired Captain. He was so burned out, that he is now a hot dog vender traveling to events across multiple states. He says he's happy and that's what really matters.

Does anyone else get pissed at the ####ty parking jobs? I'm not talking about perfect lined like CoB friday with top walking the motor pool line....but people parked crooked and on top the line instead of centered, or to far back with the ### end of the trailer hanging into the spot behind, or to far forward with the entire truck hanging out. Seriously take a little bit of pride in yourself or pretend you give a slight F*"k

It's an over-whelming time in your life for sure. I was still on Active Duty when I started working for the VA. I was on Terminal Leave at the time.

I'm not a fan of the VA. Filed claims in May last year, still waiting for C&P exams

Yea, wait to you see Coventant's "Trainer " program for Veterans.

Most folks don't want to be Trainers and Covenant made up a program "glorifying" the snot out of it. Basically, it's a trap to sucker Veterans into being coming Trainers.

I was active, and got my license in spring 2016. I waited until my enlistment was up in spring 2018 before I actually used it. I was able to get a trucking job with no problems, even though I had the license for a couple years already but hadn't used it.

It is a joke. No excuse for the delays... especially since the massive amount of money spent to correct the problem. It can all be traced back to lack of Leadership...... which of course leads to lack of personal accountability. Totally dysfunctional organization.... top to bottom. It's all Congress's fault.

Really? I filed my claim in june and had my c&p 5 months later. Although theres been a hiccup with one part of my exam where the va sent me to an outside provider, I went for the test, and their equipment didnt even work. Then the va sent me a letter 2wks later saying that specific claim was denied even though the test wasnt complete.

That's close to the timeframe I have ahead of me. I figure and would welcome refresher training or whatever a company would offer, just don't want a rush at the end. Thanks for your help!

When I was in the Navy, met several sailors that had a cdl and found part time work on weekends or when the ship was in port.
Some staffing agencies will hire you and use you whenever you're available.
