    Hey guys,

I'm an owner operator who runs under my own authority and getting ready to add a second truck. I need advice from fellow owner operators with experience for tips on how to make the process smoother. With things such as driver wages and so on. I don't want to pay too low or too high.

I have a general idea on how I would like to do things. But I also want real input from others.

    Thanks for the help.

Well, figure ten hires, and hopefully you will have a truck left to put that good one in. Been there, and done that. ;-)

Yeah that's what I'm trying to avoid. I figured it would be better to get some input from people with experience rathen than wing it.

    Pay w2.
Find the average pay for the lanes you expect and pay it.
It won't guarantee a good driver. It will though mean you won't get 100% crappy drivers.

    Tombstone Thanks this.

Ride along with them, see how they drive and treat your equipment.

Some guys need to be in a 8V92 with a 8 speed, some guys need to be in a E model Cat with a 18.
