Im trying to figure out the best / safest way to fabricate a bumper pull hitch to a FLD 112

Has anyone added a bumper pull hitch to their rig?

Can you post up pictures of your setup?

So you can pull a smaller trailer or to the front so the FLD can be pulled?

Pintle type I assume, like most gravel trucks have, as well as many fuel trucks etc all use that are body tanks then pull a trailer?
Those are extremely common, and you can go look at them almost anywhere.
Now if you mean weld on a receiver to slide a pickup truck style hitch with a ball into, I can't say I have ever seen one of those.

Bring it to a trailer shop that does hitch installs, they can do a quick job and make it look good. I have two trucks with receivers on them, they were fabbed up by a trailer shop my nephew worked at.

It dont take much for a long bed pickup tool truck to have a variety of hitches to move trailers of whatever.

Grab a welding gun, ground the big truck's frame and start burning on a adequate trailer hitch after checking your overall height, vehicle situation etc.

Do not forget to run airlines, electric lines and whatever else required by the trailer.

There are a bunch of shops that fabricate this relatively simple work well enough.

MAKE #### SURE ***pounds the table and slaps you so you remember the following....

that you HITCH, Safety Chain, positive anti sway etc all on that poor little bairn trailer really well. Because you will be rolling down the interstate while that little tiny thing will be wagging violently tearing itself apart by degrees.

    Is this what you want?

Yeah, I cut a square hole in my rear crossmember and welded in a receiver tube, reinforced it all, and use an 8" drop hitch. It's a little high, though...but works. Need to re-engineer my light bar and weld a 2.5" receiver tube on the underside of the crossmember. With an 8" drop hitch, not only will it handle larger trailers, but will position the ball about 3" lower. Probably going to repourpose the 2" receiver tube by welding in a 2" drop flipped over and facing forward to put a gooseneck ball since that'll be about the same ball height as the one in my F250...I have the materials, just need the time + motivation + cooperative weather. 100_1834.JPG 100_1840.JPG 100_1846.JPG 100_1877.JPG

You can buy this at Tractor supply. Bolt or weld it to your rear most cross member.
*if your going pull to pull a lot of weight then you best reinforce that cross member.
