Adding Hazmat to your CDL

    I'd carry a photocopy of the TSA report of issuance, until the license has the endorsment on it myself. If the DOT asks for your papers just have it folded up next to your license. Cops like things to go smoothly at the chickencoops.

    take the hazmat test first from dmv, after you pass. check the tsa website

    Get your states guide for the hazmat exam. It will have all you need in it.
    I just went down the other day to get the enhanced license since my passport expired. I had to take the HazMat exam again, and renew my license. CRAP!! I knew nothing about having to do that, so I never cracked a book to brush up. I wound up taking the exam 4 times. First time I missed seven, 2nd time 8, 3rd time 7, 4th time 2. All for the same price. You could miss up to 6 is all. There's something about the HazMat literature and exam, that just confuses the crap out of me.
    I really suspect the TSA background check is just a money maker is some cases, I have a FAST/Xpress card, CCW, and had a passport, geez people, talk to each other so I don't go broke due to YOUR paranoia!:biggrin_25511:
