1. There are different issues as to why it might freeze. Sometimes it is the unit, sometimes corrupt user files brought over from another unit, sometimes POI's downloaded from POI-Factory, sometimes the wrong SD Card for the x10 or x20 models, etc. I work with them daily and see many different issues as to why.
2. C++ is not the language it is written in. I am glad from a pop up you can tell what language it was written in.
3. NO THEY DO NOT... do not pass this false train of thought. True, some issues are not found before a software release and RM works to correct this, but with thousands of units being used, it is always a possibility that the user in the many aspects of using it will come across something not thought of in testing.
4. NO THEY ARE NOT. Floppy's have not been used since the 80's and 90's. In case you have not noticed the SD Cards are very fast and are getting faster in both size of memory stored and the way they r/w. So, unless you perform testing in an controlled environment with the TND and the SD cards, please don't make assumptions.
5. Well, since you seem to be fairly computer savvy, did you try to use the filter that is provided to on the search page to filter out the type of fuel, what type of stations you would only like to see? So, before making such a statement, try to use the filter.

I am indeed somewhat computer savvy. There are certain standardized formats with pop up etc. Maybe not C++. An error so please excuse me while I open an artery.
Now regarding the search. I just turned on my unit. I hooked into a hotspot and hit the fuel pad. It is set for diesel. Now most ordinary gas stations sell diesel too. Many cars use it.
That is useless to a trucker!!
Possibly you have noticed we are kinda big and have fuel tanks on both sides.
All it does is cloud the search with completely unnecessary clutter data. A massive mistake for a so called truck GPS.
What is needed is a way to filter out anything that is NOT a truckstop. I want the price of diesel at truckstops not a 7/11 or a mom and pop corner gas station.
My unit freezes regularly as did its predecessor. It doesn't respond to the touchscreen as it should, it misses touches all the time.
As for companies using the customer to test run the unit are you actually going to deny this? You are kidding right?
It was my job to deal with that stuff. I know what happens. A bucket of units are brought in nationwide or from a specific area and troubleshot down to component level. Software is investigated maybe mechanical issues are examined. All depends on what that particular bucket was tagged for. Adjustments to manufacturing are made and hopefully a problem is solved. On to the next problem.
I worked with this stuff for 10 years don't assume that all truck drivers have only that to their resume.
Please don't respond I can't stand corporate koolaid drinkers. I have you on ignore.Last edited: Sep 17, 2017

BTW... I drove one of those big things. It is called a Semi. I drove for 3 years, so before you make assumptions, know your facts.
Now if you are on the Tab for Fuel, do you notice the "Filter" with the "I" and a check mark at the bottom row, 2nd from the right?????? Tap on that and you can actually UNCHECK those you do not wish to see. Humm, not hard right?? So, again you are not looking at your options to "clear" up those you do not wish to see.
Customers do not test the units. PERIOD. They might find issues that have not been noticed or show up in an customers settings, BUT CUSTOMERS DO NOT TEST THE UNITS. Now if Motorola did this, then don't take what you used to do and assume others do it also.
As far as being Snotty, nope... You assume and post falsehoods in an effort to make shown what you think might be the issue, but in fact not the issue.
BTW I drink Dr Pepper, not Koolaid.
Now, if you wish to post in a civil manner in the support thread I will help you.

Whenever it freezes its bc your operating system is out of date. When you apply new map changesto an outdated OS then it messes the gos up...mine #### on me that way but i had it 3 years before i ever updated anything and that when i had the freeze frame and the gos not opening at all
