Adding power steering

He's on one of the threads I watch and post on regularly. He's quite knowledgeable on the older iron. Hopefully he sees I tagged him here and will come along in a little while.

 

Does the oil pump have a block off plate on the back? If so that will make it easier. You’ll need a coupling for the power steering pump, as well as the pump itself. Pump from a L10 should work as well.

I would look at salvage yards and find a donor steering box, and go from there to be honest.

I drove an old Cabover Shaker for Pop that had air assist steering, it wasn’t nothing to write home about, but it took the edge off lol.

If you’re unsure about the your oil pump share a picture of it with us, lot of good heads here, not talking about me neither lol.....

You're hard to keep track of, that's for sure. I figure I'll run into you one day and probably not know it til two weeks later. Lol

 

This is the style pump you will need. Notice the splined shaft, you’ll need the coupling to join the 2 splined shafts in both pumps as well.

 

Yes Sir. Show us a picture of your oil pump on the engine, not all pumps are setup for a power steering pump....
