I stopped listening to the 'experts' when they said bacon was bad for you.
The only creature on the earth that bacon is bad for is the pig who had to give it up.

I was just telling my cousin last week. Man every since there was a push to stop advertising cigarettes because they caused cancer. It seems like since then everything you eat causes cancer.

I'm pretty sure a study will come out in a year or two. That walking cause cancer. Then the next will be breathing!

I would literally die if I stopped using salt. Diagnosed with a severe sodium deficiency when I was 12, had to start taking salt tablets everyday working in the heat on the farm. I have used as much salt as I want my whole life and at 62 have perfect BP and my sodium content from my blood work 2 months ago was 1 point above the minimum. Bring on them salty McD fries!

I posted on the "sugar" thread about salt and forgot about this one. We had so much salt growing up. Those salty Bavarian pretzels, and a ton of potato chips, I don't know, with as different as we are, it's pretty foolish to name a smoking gun, when everything has salt in it. We even had salt shakers at every place setting. I'm very skeptical about the healthcare industry to begin with, and like anything else, it comes down to money. Push the pills. I mistakenly opted for "automatic refill" on my BP meds, this "Centerwell"( Humana) sent me pills when I didn't even need them. Even with no refills left, crooked ########,,,

When I was young, my mom went to some doctor that told her that she was eating too much sodium and to cut it out of her diet completely. OMG me and my dad were about to go start our own restaurant or something. We COULD NOT eat that food anymore. It all tasted like styrofoam.

After about 6 months my mom told the doctor we can't live like this and went back to eating normally.

Don’t throw it away, save it for use in winter.

    Table salt is highly processed.

Sea salt is said to be a bit healthier, but I don't think it is. It does contain less iodine, though.

iodine is an essential element the body needs and doesn't get from many sources.

highly processed to remove impurities after it is mined, but still basically sodium chloride.
