It's a SlingBox, their pretty cool. The Sling hooks up to your Dish or Cable at the house, and then uploads your TV to the Internet. Then you can watch your home TV anywhere you can get Internet, on just about any device, phone, laptop, tablet, whatever. It does require a pretty fast connection on the home side though.

I talked to the shop about this. You CAN have a satellite dish on your truck, i.e. the VuQube, but it must either have a window mount that you can put it outside and bring it in when you drive, OR they say several drivers have mounted them on metal pipe that is the same size as the load lock rack on the back of the truck. They told me I could mount it onto the pipe and then put the pipe into the load lock rack and then put a lock on it so no one steals it.

I decided not to do that because all of the models of satellite dishes like the VuQube have horrible reviews for reliability and it apparently is a nightmare to get any issues fixed (Dish says it's a VuQube problem, VuQube says it's a Dish problem etc.) and they're just too expensive in my view to be worth the risk.

Nowadays I just carry DVDs with me. I have around 700 in my truck of movies and TV shows, each in plastic sleeves and stored in two baskets in one of the cabinets. Lots of viewing, very little space.

That is what I do. DVD's are great for downtime. I usually have little time for tv anyway let alone time to set up a satellite connection. Yeah the VuCube is hugely expensive. Of course for reefer drivers there may be more opportunity for tv watching lol. Gotta love those grocery warehouses and tyson plants :)

Tyson... *shudder*... they take FOREVER. I once waited 37 hours to be loaded at Tyson... the only reason myself and my FM didn't raise hell was because I only had about 4 hours left on my 70 anyways. But anytime I go to a Tyson plant, I have a new way of doing it... I drop my trailer and immediately go on my 10 hour break. Most of the time they have it loaded by the time I wake up.

A coupla weeks ago, a Tyson plant didn't get me loaded until 3 hours after the load was DUE at the receiver (which was another Tyson plant). And the lady has the gall to tell me that "This load is going to be late."

    THANK YOU, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!

LOL! Tell me something I didnt know. My brother in law used to pull reefer. He pulled in one of the Tyson plant somewhere there in Arkansas early for his load appointment. The guard directed him to go drop his trailer then come back to the waiting area. While dropping his trailer he spotted a loaded trailer running the reefer. He asked the guard if that might be his load, the guard called shipping and they said no that his load wasnt ready yet. So he sat and waited for 4hours at which time the guard came and gave him his paperwork and guess which trailer they told him to pick up. If you guessed the one already loaded 4hours earlier then you are correct. Man was he mad! When he checked it out earlier it was sealed, so he knew that they werent just running the reefer to cool it down before loading. Things like that would drive me absolutely insane!

Yeah, Tyson is bad about that... and they do that on EVERY load. They may finish loading at, say, 12pm, but the load won't be "cleared" until 4pm. Had that happen many times. Pisses my FM off to no end lol.
