This is how I mounted mine on my flatbed. As you can see it doesn't have the typical, round chain spools. As it is I typically drop a chain through a stake pocket then run it up over the spool & hook the chain to the stake pocket behind the spool. I can still run the chain around the bottom of the spool if needed without damaging the light, just have to pay attention so as not to get against the light.

I also have 3 work lights mounted under both sides of the trailer but those are for work, not for getting a visual on trailer location while driving or turning down the road on those dark, rainy nights.

If somebody hits me they can't say they didn't see me that's for sure.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Those look great. Attached are some pics of my trailer. I probably have room for some lights like that on mine but it seems a flush mount would be better so they don't interfere with chains or straps.

Looks like you found a solution to your need. Post some pics if you end up going with them.

I think so. The only thing that concerns me is the reliability of those tiny lights. One review on Amazon the guy bought and installed 19 and within two months 5 failed.

I believe that they only have at most two led bulbs in them so yeah they can fail faster than the ones that have 3-5 in them. Maybe you need to get the larger ones and put them under the bed like 2-4" back from the side rail. That will still light up the road and you can see the tires with that much light.

I've got a friend that has a couple of those button lights & he's gotten a couple of years out of them so far. I believe his are Maxxims & I have always had good service from their products as well.

I bought my head rack used. It came with two fancy chrome spotlights. The first time I hit the switch at night WOW. They are basically two million power deer shining spotlights. A pencil beam of light out there half a mile. Pretty much worthless for my application.
But with an empty flat and an a-hole tailgating you that just won't pass they work wonders.
