Since this thread, lost some work and had some rates cut, not saying I’m never going to add trucks, but it’s been kicked down the totem pole for now, so just going to keep saving money and set myself up for a better future.
Same. Think i’m still gonna add some, lot of decent work been thrown my way lately. Lotta ####ty work as well lol
I’ve also learned I really don’t care for reefer all that much to begin with, still need money coming in to pay bills though, while If I do run the truck it’s to make money, I’m really not in this just for the money, so taking two steps back and reflecting on what I actually set out to do with the truck works too
I love trucks/ tends to be you got to go truckin to justify having them though. And I’m pretty well over trucking.
Yeah, goes back to my I love trucks, like trucking, but do this to make money saying. It’s too stressful to be doing for fun or the love. In the next 10 yrs as my son gets to be 15 I’ll have to make a decision whether to keep with it or not. If he wants to take it over then cool. If not then that would have to be a real decision making progress. When I was a kid my family sold their company when I was 14 and I never expected to start a company one day. Kinda one of those deals I guess. We’ll have to see where the industry is by then as well. He will either want to be buying trucks by then or will not care about it at all. That’ll be my Q.
I’ve heard odd # of Trucks theory for years. That’s a real old one.I wonder what the reasoning for that is. Must refer to having 2 paid for for every one loan? Otherwise what’s the difference?
meh I run the truck for the money, but I can just accept I’ll never be a millionaire doing this. as much as I love trucking I’m getting pretty well over all the bull #### myself, especially on the reefer side, but it’s still steady work for right now and steady checks, so I can’t just jump wagons without doing a little more research
