I’ve never heard or seen that the cams were dependent on the stroke of the chamber but maybe I need to learn something
Oxbow, tj379 and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
I have remembered wrong before. I've got to get into my parts trailer when I get home. I'll look at a few cams and see if I can find any info.

If done in pairs or sets so they are all equal with the slack adjuster angle set up properly what difference does it make? The only difference I see is the 3 inch stroke chambers can still have some braking effect when brake adjustment allows over 2 1/2 inches travel.
To my understanding properly adjusted brakes being at 90 degree angle between the slack adjuster and the brake chamber rod when fully applied is most important for maximum stopping ability. Now we set them up for the proper auto slack operation.
You have so much good information that I appreciate you but what am I missing here?wore out, W923, tj379 and 1 other person Thank this.
