Advantages of third axle placement

5 axle non divisible load (steel) 101,000 6 axle 120,000 in Indiana

 

Driver told me that he is permitted for 160k gross. Not sure the max allowed legally on this setup. Anyone care to explain?

 

The steer axle is 12,000-18,000 depending on tires, 32,000 for the drives, 18,000 for the 9' spread lift axle, 13,000 for each axle in the group of 4, 18,000 for the next 9' spread lift axle, and 13,000 for each of the last 2 axles. so 158,000-164,000.

 

Thank you for the clarity, but why only 32k on the drives. Dont you mean 34k?
