I did recently speak with Schneider and they have sent me information on current openings. What I can tell you is the apprenticeship program can include a company training program but it's not a requirement. If you go to an outside school, they pay for the full tuition while you receive housing and once hired, you start your 24 or 12 month housing allowance. This is an arrangement through the Department of Labor which allows a veteran to receive a housing allowance through the VA for up to two years depending on the company. Some companies are up to one year but it is tax free income in addition to whatever you make driving. There are training standards of 4000 hours that include classroom and driving time and you receive certificates of completion.

Glad your first Swift contact was a positive experience.
As a Schneider veteran -- I think your first year to 18 months....with Swift....will yield a more satisfying experience -- than with Schneider.
@Moosetek13....here on the Forum -- drove for Swift for a long time (years)...& never felt the need to leave for elsewhere.
He can probably answer other questions you may have -- about life on the inside, with Swift.
