So anyway I was out on a run to big lake Texas and made it back in on the third. Problem is on the fourth I started feeling bad and it got worse thankfully my wife realized what was wrong and took me into the er. Had a ruptured appendix(good thing it waited till I got home) I have to wait to get staple removed but as far as going back to work, any tips for throwing straps and tightening up the ratchets. I can't do it now but I am leery of trying to throw a strap or putting tension on one and getting myself in worse shape.
advice and pointers

I think you should listen to your doctors.
Skydivedavec and MJ1657 Thank this. -
I went through the same thing about 15 years ago. There is nothing you can do other then wait until your body is ready to let you get back at it.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Throw a rope over with a hook on end, and pull the straps over with it

A fishing pole with a 4" carabiner on the end of the line and some patience should get those straps over the load for you with a flick of the wrist.
I'd personally pull some power only load out dry vans or frac tanks until I got healed up. Even just getting a strap gutentite can put more stress on your abdomen than you know until you pop a staple out of it. -
Maybe just a fishin pole and a Budweiser.

Not a bad idea but I already planned on waiting for the doc to remove the staple and just keep doing what he said walking and no lifting over 5 lbs. We don't use chains because the oil companies don't want chains on the pipe so we use web straps with the hooks. I thought about throwing with my left hand but even though I am left handed I can't throw worth a #### left handed.
