Your location will be appealing to a lot of companies, you might consider Abilene.

I met with the Department of Labor for my unemployment and they said that Suffolk County will pay for my CDL!! The school I could get into soonest is 25 lessons at 1 1/2 hours each.

Thanks for all the replies here.

Will the Dept. of Labor pay for a 160 hr. school? If so, try for that.

They would but it doesn’t start for over a month and I can’t afford to wait that long.

160 hours is the brass ring. 25 2 hour runs is not quite enough.

Do NOT let impatience get the better of you. Learn to wait. It's almost a childish request but in trucking currently a 160 hour cert in hand is good for you. A cheapie 25 lessons because you were in a hurry for 4 weeks is going to hurt you.

FYI no one cared about that inkjet diploma on my shelf from my school that no longer exists in my time. The family or owners rather of that place still does. But the facility is gone as are some of the people in life as well. If I needed a 160 hour paper then it would have been worth 4 weeks.

I once postponed orientation 3 months or so to build savings for trucking after. It worked out well for a while anyway. I had moved on inside a year due to a company conflict over payroll which caused losses on both ends.
