Advice for student starting class this Monday...

    Don't apply anywhere until you got your CDL. If you get pre-hired then fail your state CDL test more than once then some companies won't hire you. Industry turnover is 100% so all these companies will hire you when your ready..

    Get all your endorsements now.

    Learn to do a good pre-trip. It'll save your life.

    It maybe stressful at first but know that you WILL master this.

    The main thing you need to remember is always get out and look. Both before backing, and before pulling into an area you arent sure you can be in. Never be afraid to stop the truck, put on the 4 ways, and walk around that corner or into that lot to see if its big enough for you.

    And 99% of all rookies have some sort of an accident or incident the first year. When it happens just own up to it, learn from it, but dont beat yourself up over it.

    Gordon used to be one of the best companies for new drivers, but I dont know if that is still current.
