Actually we do have egr, I had it on a 2008 r480.
I'm with you on the d12's and d13's, much better on fuel and more reliable than the d16 -
d12D/F got two expencive EGR valves. quad price of ISX EGR) LOL
D13 is the other thing with rear cam gears.
May be there is a reason to find ISX w/o DPF? -
I'd stay away from d16 engines. Big money for parts and service
