I worked for Knight. They're not bad at all. Left for local gig, didn't go back because of hair test and I'm balding, don't want to get armpits or other body parts shaved again... Trucks at 65 if your idle % is below 17%. If not it slows down to 63. I drove at 63.. didn't bother me much because I ran i5 most of the time so that was a good top speed lol.
They leave you alone as long as you do your job. They got freight and decent drop and hook. I did dry van.. they also have reefer and ports. Trucks are taken care of and I liked their elog system, easy to work around if need be. I'd say that's better than western but good luck though.

.... and @Keiler05 yes that's the Dale I'm talking about~! What a man. What a mighty GOOD man. @Stone Dude if you got IN with Knight, you could move to their elite division after sometime in. Actually, the guy that Keiler and I are talking about started with Western.
pm Keiler for the details; because when I'm not home my fingers are too fat for the dang Chromebook or ANY thing i'm allowed to take...
I work nights, and sleep days......but the wife won't give up her techno anyway.
Good advice here, tho man.
Best of luck, be safe.Dharok Thanks this. -
There has been a bunch of changes to OTR.
I suggest you look real hard at those who might say yes. Frankly as far as Im concerned if I wanted to OTR today I would find it unlike what it was then in many ways related to dispatch, cameras, apus etc.
An example. APU's were too fancy, too expensive, guzzles weight idle away... Now? Everyone and their boss wants them. sheesh.Dharok Thanks this. -
Today KLLM and CR England called me. Lady from KLLM asked me a few questions and said she'd send my application to their compliance department and let me know in a few days. CR England lady asked about my background, and on the plus side she said my not driving for years was no problem. She went ahead and set me a preliminary orientation date of 10/17 and said they'll do my background and work history and get back to me.
So right now Western Express and CR England are looking possible while I'm waiting to hear from Knight, KLLM, and FreyMiller. -
Best of luck to you, man. Tell them that Dale / Old School is one of your mantras. . . . either at Western, or if you get into Knight. They all know him. He's an older guy (so am I but still a bit younger than him....) and he got kicked out of 3 orientations for various issues.. hernias, etc. Now, he's a TOP TIER driver for Sapa, which is the flatbed elite fleet of Knight.
If you want this bad enough, you can do it.
Personally, I'd go with Western before the other two, because KLLM is all about that "lease" bout that Lease, no "treble...."
CRE, um.... teams?
All the info I have for you, from my experience with people I've met that have worked at the above.
Just my 2cents~!!!
Again, Best to you man. -

You might need a month or more. Spouse had 12 weeks plus with me and it was not enough once she began to really learn her first year. I think I aged 10 years defending her where possible from screw ups.

Well, KLLM got back to me fast. It was a no, but at least they called me and told me instead of just never calling me back.
Unless Knight or FreyMiller have some good news for me Monday it looks like CR England and Western Express are my final shots. (And those aren't even guarantees yet) I've heard enough stories that my biggest worry is one of them sending me a bus ticket, I spend 16 hours on a bus, then they tell me I'm disqualified for some reason and leave me sitting 1,000 miles from home.
Prospects are getting grim... -
Nothing is ever, nothing is EVER final. You have thousands if not tens of thousands of trucks sitting, approx 10 to 14% of the entire Nations inventory of around 9 million to 12 million involved in trucking.
