Sounds like a good size place, actually. I'm into small fleets myself. More latitude, per se.
What kind of product??? That may weigh on your time issues, also.

This is why I thought I would get more than one perspective.

I prefer running in the daylight... More to look at but I mostly run late afternoon and into the night. This makes for less traffic which is nice.
I like the 34 restart as I am home every week but had no issue driving for 9.5 every day and using a recap.

All dry van loads. A lot of different lane runs (long runs) to boarder towns, TX, AZ, NM, and CA. No north west runs, no runs to NYC, or in NYS and further north. The company shuts down snow plagued roads in the winter, as no throwing chains.

Don't let them load you with bales of scrap in a dry van, this is the 'conundrum' of the day:
Rollover: Chances for a near future?

Really seems like you're gonna have to just go with this place if that's what you want, and 'roll with it.' I'm all good with the 'no chaining' myself, but I'm old, hahaha! ;)

How do you use your 70? Wisely.
I just knocked off 3000, 3 trips, and I'm sitting in my bedroom. Left last Saturday at about 1400, got home this afternoon at 1300.
Had about 4 hours left. And would have gotten back 5 tomorrow, 10 on Monday, 9 on Tuesday, etc.. Now I'm doing a 34.

    You use them wisely.

My reply to this query is the same as always. Too many variables between carriers/jobs. Bottom line, a lot depends on average length of haul and how many of your movements are centered around critical load and unload appointments .... this will vary from one gig to another.

Turbo Diesel and G13Tomcat Thank this.
