I was called by a big LTL company to set an interview for a lineuaul gig, being that the interview would take place anytime M-F, I asked if I can ask my current DM for a day off and then call them back to set up the appointment. He was completely cool with that and even gave me another contacts name in case he wasn’t available. Well, I called back an hour later and of course he wasn’t available. I left a voice mail stating that I can interview on a specific (Wednesday) day at any time and asked if he can call me back to confirm at what time........ My question is: In the case that he doesn’t call me back tommorow for whatever reason (i.e. didn’t hear voicemails, forgot to call me, etc.) should I still show up unannounced and ready for interview?! It’s hard to get days off in my current job so it’s not like I could just continue to miss a day or call in.
Advice on interview for LTL Linehaul.

You wasted a days pay. Make the most of it. Stop by there and also stop by anything else around that interests you.

Did you call the OTHER contact that you were given? Also, what time do the office people normally show up? Do you know? If not, call their main number and ask the secretary/operator when. Younger guys don't usually do well with returning phone calls from messages left on answering machines. They respond to texts. This is actually the difference between young men and young women. Women are better at communicating.
"But how do I text them, Six?"
Ask the secretary/operator to do it. The thing you don't do is sit and wait. You want it, go all out. If the office people got in at 0700, I would be sitting outside at 0800. That gives them an hour to get into work mode and turn on their computers and drink coffee and get their minds into the job.
Luck in battle.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this.
