This is not new news. Carrier is already running them on the interstate in the southwest from Texas. I figure over the next decade they may make up less than 5% of the trucks out there. A lot of it is to entice investor hype. Running the southwest interstates last year I saw ONE autonomous Waymo truck with a driver. Just like anything else it makes news.

Abbott first band autonomous trucks, then reversed his decision. But all autonomous trucks have to have a driver on board. So in all fairness, they still have a driver.

Getting paid to sit in the driver seat with my hands over the steering wheels as the truck drives itself? Where do I sign up?

They're now testing them up here in the cold North in Toronto, Ontario. Winter was so bad last year with the snow. I honestly, will like to see how well that works out during those snow days.

I'd like to see them run Vancouver to Edmonton over the winter and see how well they work out on the Coq compared to normal trucks.

Ya know if you think about the majority of today's "drivers", we already have driverless trucks.

We've had these same trucks down in az . Running between phx and tucson for probably 10+ years now... Always a driver in them. I see less of them than i used to... Theyve only done 1 fully autonomous ride, during nightime and with a chase car following behind it... The company that accomplished that is bankrupt and no longer around...

Well waymo has a #### ton of fully autonomous taxis running around phoenix. No driver in them at all. They get stuck all the time but they drive better than 95% of the morons out therr
