Two problems. First, when a future possible employer contacts ahern about employment verification, the only thing ahern is allowed by law to do is verify your start and end dates. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can prove otherwise, take them to court.

Now, even though you didn't have any DOT recordable accidents, you still had accidents with company equipment. Consider yourself very lucky that they haven't reported them to DAQ because if they did, there would nothing you could do about it and any future possible employer could see it.

In the meantime, rather than omitting those incidents from future applications, why not tell the truth. You already said you did it, own up to it.

Not once did I say I didn't mention the actual ACCIDENT. I will NOT include the INCIDENT that doe not involve my CDL nor did the it require any license to operate. I don't care if they put the ACCIDENT on my DAC since I'm reporting it anyway. It's the INCIDENT that I'm fighting. BTW, it's DAC not DA "Q" and anything added to said database if debatable. HireRight has already told me if Ahern adds anything I have the right to dispute. Also, I don't appreciate you insinuating that I'm a dishonest person. Try reading before you run your mouth.

It does not matter whether it involves your CDL or not you damage company equipment and that is considered an incident or an accident under many company standards @JimmyWells

You still damaged your co's customers property therefore it's at minimum an incident and if they think it's an accident then so be it...flat out you admitted damaging something...

I agree it's an INCIDENT but it should be clarified as such and NOT be made out to be an ACCIDENT on any employee verification. Reporting it as an ACCIDENT is misleading. Prospective carriers do care about the difference and aren't holding the INCIDENT against me once I have a chance to explain it. Problem is, many companies won't give a chance to explain as they're being led to believe the INCIDENT involves an actual vehicle. The differentiation between the two needs to be spelled out for those checking the reference.
