This 2012 Cascadia i've been driving just started doing it. An air tank in a trailer had tons of moisture and quite a bit of rust in it that i hooked to. Didn't bleed the tank before I hooked, as most of them don't have a valve to bleed it off. So I know that started the problem, and maybe that says alot. I wish I knew a bit more about this kinda stuff, but it doesn't matter really since I work for a company that'll fix it. Although, this is one of those deals that they don't think is an issue, and according to that article above, neither does Freightliner.

If all the other trucks blow off and not purge through an air release hose like this truck, then one would have to assume there's a problem. The compressor must be running overtime. It stops doing it sometimes when i'm going down the road. I notice the air gauges level off. It must have something to do with the compressor itself, because like someone has stated, it seems to stop when you cut the engine off during the purge. Which means the compressor is doing it. Correct?

I've got a similar problem with a 2011 cascadia. The safety valve on top of air compressor keeps going off even though air tanks are empty. It blew the two air lines that come off the compressor to air dryer. I replaced the air governor but still doing the same thing. My next step is to replace air dryer, any suggestions???

If the safety valve keeps popping off, you probably have a restriction in the compressor line or a problem in the air dryer. Disconnect the compressor discharge hose from the air dryer and start it up to make sure the line is clear. If it ok disconnected from the dryer, bypass the dryer to see if it works OK, if it does, you have an issue with the dryer.

I would also get a new safety valve for the compressor once you get the issue fixed. Once they pop a bunch of times, there's a good chance that it'll fail soon. Kicking on and off is hard on the seals in them, it may be fine, but there're around $20, so better safe than sorry.
