I see the gauge creeping down to 100 psi, build pressure to 125+ then purges about every 5 minutes. As the air pressure decreases, the engine idle gets rougher.

Going to get the system checked on my next trip home.

Check yor purge valve. It's a little plastic cup on the bottom of the dreyer. There's a snap ring in there, once you get that out wiggle very lightly the black cup and it should come out. Chek your o rings for any cuts if they have any replace them with the correct size. Also this could need replaced. Be sure to build the new one side by side the old one. Also there is a govenver on the side of your dreyer that could also be a the problem. If you need a new dreyer e sure to build it side by side the old one. Go easy putting the fittings into the new dreyer as its brass into aluminum. Of they break off don't use ez outs they don't work. Makes the problem worse. Take a pick and beat the brass out then take a 18-24 pipe fitting tap and retread the holes.

Note this is how I've done it on Pete's and Freightliners. I take no responsibility for what happens when you do these things.

ps if your purge valve goes ch ch ch ch ch after building air once after you've checked it ad your can put your palm over the black cup and if it "sucks up" and builds air like normal then repeats this problem pull the valve back out and check your o rings again of this continues you mostly likely need a new dreyer

I crawled underneath and noticed the valve on the bottom of the dryer is hissing at me.

I also need a new washer pump, and a hood latch. I'll get all these things fixed sooner or later :biggrin_25523:

Put your palm on it and a very light pressure and let me know if it "sucks up"

Charged the air back up, but it's not talking to me. I'll report back when I hear something.
