I picked up an Oreck AIR-95 HEPA at Walmart for $100 ($50 off). It is designed for a 200+ sq. ft. room. It fits perfectly behind the passenger seat and I've had it running this weekend while I was home. Got back to the truck tonight and couldn't believe the difference. I'm really happy.

LOL. Pass. God knows what chems they use to synthesize the smells.

Awesome! Yeah something I noticed with mine is that the ionizer causes the floating dust to fall and stick to stuff (or get sucked up and filtered out). That has made it easier to knock the dust levels down since I just wipe the interior down a couple of times a week. No more sea of dust every time I flop down on the bunk in the sunshine.

I finally figured out where the cabin air filter is on my truck and took a look at it today. OMG, you could grow crops on this thing. I don't think it has ever been changed. I think that will help the dust problem too.

The Oreck has what they call Air Revitilizer. I haven't looked at the directions yet, but from the smell think it is some kind of an ionizer, also.

Do NOT buy the Oreck. Not sure why but it is incompatible with an inverter. Melted the top on 3 of them.

    How is the Holmes working?

So far so good. Running it on a 1500 watt inverter with no problem. It takes considerably less wattage though. Sorry your oreck didn't like the inverter. Glad it didn't catch on fire!

My husband has very small one meant for a baby nursery and it's been excellent for dust, pet dander and pollen. However, the only thing that works for dog hair is a new Bissell cordless car vac with a power pet hair brush. He vacuums every second day.
