    Howdy y’all
I’m in the market for a W9 triaxle dump. Seems like a lot of them have the 8 bag KW air glide suspensions on them. I’ve had air ride dump trucks in the past (driving one now) ie. Pete with air trac. I absolutely hate it. And I’ve got a newer International with the Hendricks Primaxx and that thing is STOUT! Basically what I’m getting at is how does the KW air glide compare to the others? Is as stable as the primaxx? Or is it like the butt clinching air trac?

also if you know of anyone selling a W900 please let me know. thanks

    MartinFromBC Thanks this.

8 bag sucks in general but it 100% does NOT belong on a dump truck, it is worse then air trac

That’s what I was afraid of. This Pete has done me in on air ride anything.

How come the 8 bag sucks? Is the 4 bag better?

No stability and a lot of bounce, then on a dump truck all the weight makes it sway side to side on the road

Dual levelling valves will make a difference.

Obviously it sucks half as much….sorry I couldn’t control my sarcasm and don’t have a better answer.
Now my opinion on the original question I have never liked air ride for dumps or actually anything that ventures off road frequently simply because they can’t compete against walking beam style suspension for traction. A walking beam type suspension will get farther with no diff lock than an air ride of any style with full lockers. Been there done that. I like my hendrickson rubber block walking beam. I would like to try the air over walking beam for a nicer ride though. Another thing I don’t like about the air ride is how they lean if loaded off center especially if it’s a high sided truck. Dual leveling valves should help that

I have one with Pete air ride and don't have a problem with it. 8 bag seems to be less stable. If they're loaded to one side they lean far worse than Pete air ride does.

If you can find an old 900 with rubber blocks you will be so happy you'll likely even tolerate your mother in law better.
For $35,000,000 I'll sell you one of mine. :)

Actually I know of one that is legitimately for sale.
Cat, 18 speed, good tires and brakes, box has been stripped off it, and frame is tweaked, so needs the frame rails replaced.
Its a project, not turn key, but engine, trans, clutch, diffs are fine.
Interior condition is about a 3 out of 10.
No radios, no passenger seat, only 1 fuel tank done on purpose 20 years ago.

    W923 and dillydog24 Thank this.
