That truck will always have a special place in my heart, being it was the 1st truck I bought.
Couldn't afford to go to a shop, so it also made me a mechanic. Sheets of plywood in the driveway, park over them so i wasn't laying in the mud...come winter i leaned them against the house I was renting so it didn't snow on them, so dry when i had to work on the truck. My toolboxes never got stolen amazingly, they sat outside in the driveway with a tarp over them. Would frequently build a fire beside the truck, and tarp it in for warmth, and choke on the smoke, but i had to do what I could. Worked my ### off, and that Kenny treated me well.

We have a T800 with the 8 bag... It has a 2500 gallon tank on it... It will make your butt chew a hole in the seat!!!! It is like piloting a very small boat on very big water in bad storm. I would NEVER want to opporate an 8 bag dump truck on anything that wasnt perfectly level and very solid concrete or asphalt.

So apparently the 8 bag setup is really only good for OTR freight haulers.

I drove a t800 with the 8 bag that was exactly like that. It actually was so bad I would take the reyco 4 spring truck first if I had my choice. Finally the boss asked me what the deal was and I told him I would be seasick from driving it. A couple days later he took it for a ride and agreed with me that it was terrible. Moral of the story is a fresh set of shocks and it rode great.

One of 2 options build you a truck as in buy a day cab and put Hendrickson walking beam under it and a bed or put rubber blocks that have frame mounted brackets that sit on the spring between the inside dual and frame rail. I installed several sets on 8 bag Pete low air and air leaf every one said they really helped. Now they were not the end all be all fix. Mounting them to share the load was key. It’s been 15 years so I’m completely lost on a source

Back in late 60’s when you could get an honest 95% all aluminum truck. Frames, Trans, rear diffs and axle housings, steer axles, etc. Hendrickson built an all aluminum walking beam. AutoCar used them the most in oil field spec.

The cab on that old blue W900 is more steel than aluminum. Probably why its lasted so long.
