I'm late to the discussion here, but there is a difference between the original Peterbilt Low Air Ride and the current Low Air Leaf. The current version is the same as the KW AG 400L and IMHO is a POS. Rides terrible and doesn't handle all that well on the the roller coaster 2 lanes I frequent. As a mechanic I know put it; "You gotta give Peterbilt credit, it took them 30 years to come up with something that rides worse than an Airliner." The old Low Air Ride was/is a good suspension for both ride and handling.
The Air Trac is is great for vocational type work- logging/construction applications. It's strong as hell, handles good & rides about as well as the current Low Air Leaf. It's noisy, creaks and pops a lot, but it will take a lot of abuse. For a highway application I think the flex-air handles and rides about as well as anything I've ever driven.
