Just curious:
Does anyone have any experience using Air Weigh (LoadMaxx) Tractor Scale? It isn't to much to install in a truck and trailer. (Perhaps $4-5,000)
With the the cost of scales going up, even though just a small amount; it still adds up, and the time it'll save. Wouldn't it be worth it to invest in? I mean, I've loaded many-a-loads where the shipper overloaded me, but there was no scale within 20 miles. Having this would have saved me time and money.
Just wondering if anyone has ever had it, and if so, what has your experience been like?

If you are over weight they will want a certified weigh so you will still have to use those dreaded scales, but when it is close and you know your scales on the rig it will save time.

I had the right weigh on a tanker trailer I pulled it was very handy for what we were doing. I could get within 500lbs or so of were I wanted to be. I think the one on the trailer is only like 300 or so no frills just a gauge mounted on the back of the trailer tapped into the air line for the bags.

We just used an air gauge back in the ag business. We knew where 34k was and would just roll with it. Most scales will give you a couple hundred +/-

You are crazy if you spend any amount on any device that converts air pressure to a numerical value...
My last trailer I had a gauge installed, set me back maybe 100 or 200 at my local mechanic. You get good at using them you can get it very close, only needing cat scale to see if you are in excess of 80,000. Beyond that we get into playing the fuel weight game and knowing where the scales are and when they're typically open.... -
One of our guys put the system on his truck and trailer. After two years of bouncing down the highway it started to get a lot of gremlins. He gave up and just put in air gauges.

I can get within 500 kg gross ( 1,100 lbs ) over three axle groupings for a total of 63,500 kg (140,000 lbs).fargonaz Thanks this. -
I used the Right Way scales on a tractor and trailer for a year and it was great. The hardest part was finding level ground to check the wight without setting the brakes. The system only costs a few hundred bucks, and if it breaks or stops working, get another one.

I will put AppWeigh on my T&T tomorrow, just cut airline and push hose on, will take longer to find my tubing cutter than to install.
Works with Bluetooth and phone app, has a one year battery and I will keep my air gauges.
