It's kind of a gray area when it comes to trucking. The IRS tends to let small companies pass when it comes to 1099. I was a 1099 with my former employer but I was their only employee ( husband and wife owner operator) so it was no big deal. However a company with multiple trucks and drivers should be taking out taxes. My company has less than 100 employees with 85+ being drivers but we are all w4 employees.

OSHA is your best bet. File a complaint with them. Let their legal team do the legwork. Get PAID.

These companies sound just like the 80's. A judge should hang them for what they do to drivers.

I see these trucks in Indy sometimes...they can't even put their door decals on straight...red flag right there.

I'm inclined to agree the con artists should be strung up in public for the world to stare at with utter and complete disgust.
They should hang them out right next to the proud, avowed racists. -
I too worked for them for a month and never got paid. No, with them you're supposed to do your own taxes. When the truck broke down he wanted me to use my own money to pay for the repair saying that he'd pay me back. Glad I didn't do that. They would always tell me that they wired my pay to my bank account, however, there was never any money deposited on my account. The first excuse is that his daughter wired the money, that she was being trained and probably didn't do it right. There was more excuses after that.I then became suspicious and googled them and found out about their fraudulent business. That's when I decided to quit. I was told that it would take four weeks before I could get paid if I quit. Four weeks came, I never received anything from them. I called and was put on hold then the phone hung up. I called back and they would not answer. I simply gave up.
