0.08 is all 50 states in a POV.
0.04 is common in states for Commercial vehicles.

Alcohol consumed in care of a truck on or off duty is not the brightest thing to do.
Way to many things can happen. Not cut and dry.

Yes we would!! But unfortunatly, thats not happening in this day and age, so it is "Cover your a#s" and everything should be ok.
I am all about a guy havin a beer after a long day, every other normal american has the option of stoppin off at moes bar and grill for a beer after work, but they also run the risk of bieng ticketed if pulled over. Here in Arizona they now have "Impaired to the slightest" which is not drunk enough to get a DUI, but still impaired. and any insurance company sees that on your record your just as toast as a DUI.

I'm in violation right now, I carry the airline antifreeze all the time. Me thinks it's 100% rubbing alcohol. I haven't drank any... I promise.:puke::smt078

A detectable presence will have you placed OOS for 24 hrs. Detectable presence is if I can smell it or if you register on the breath test. It can't be anywhere inside of the truck. It can only be in the trailer if it is manifested. If you think otherwise, here is your warning. Save you some time and money. Get it out of your truck and leave it home. The .04 is a DUI/DWI depending on the State. .08 in a car is the higher level of impairment. .04 in CMV meets the higher lever of impairment. .04 or higher lose your CDL for a period of 1 year. A second offense is lifetime ban of CDL. I've had three guys this year over .04 BAC. One had his second dance with a DUI in a truck. BYE BYE CDL. Some State statutes are tougher than the fedral regs as well. Just FYI.

It is something that as a paramedic we were always to check for.

Many people do not realize that after drinking and well after they may no longer be under the influence, that certain times they can smell of the alcohol. If they burp and sometimes just their breath it will smell of it.

Very easy to tell when I have not had any alcohol and someone that was drinking comes around. You can smell them very easily. Also you sweat it out, stinks like hell, emitting out of your pores.

Many of the users do not know this. I can smell it in the truckstops in the morning and can tell just by looking at them.

It works both ways . I knew a married (for a while) guy in AR that would douse himself with vodka after hanging out with women in a bar to cover the scent of the perfume .
