I just feel that any type of intoxicant that is readily available has a greater potential for abuse. There are plenty of other places the locals can get beer from and at a much cheaper price usually. Lets say marijuana is reclassified the same as nicotine. Are you going to support that being sold at a truck stop as well?

I agree 100% with you. Just because a truck stop sells beer doesn't mean I'm inclined to purchase it. One if my favorite stops has a bar next door, a liquor store next to that bar, and they also sell beer at the truck stop. The bar has amazing chicken wings by the way, absolutely awesome

What about snortin a few lines on the dash.?..While texting and drinking a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 watching Lesbian Porn and looking for your next load on the computer..Not to mention doing it at 90MPH,raising discontentmant on the CB..?..Is this ''safe''...
DrtyDiesel and OPUS 7 Thank this. -
Yep, same deal. If pot ever got the same status as alcohol, sell it at the same places as beer. Because it is there is not a reason to buy it if you know you shouldn't.Wanderingaimlessly and 900,000-tons-of-steel Thank this.

And here you have the root of all evil that is in the USA. A guy murders someone, but he's not responsible because he had a troubled childhood. Who hasn't? Everyone I know has had a troubled childhood. Shoot the ####### and be done. No more troubles. "Oh, they shouldnt sell beer at a truckstop, a driver might get drunk and fire up his rig and kill someone." Waitaminute, perhaps that driver has had a troubled childhood too. Sorry, my heart doesnt bleed. I'm an adult.
The thing that separates adults from children is that adults can and should be held fully responsible for any and everything they do. If I pop a few cold ones and get drunk and fire up the rig and ride down the road, and hit someone and kill them, shoot me and be done.
"Oh but Six, your childhood...perhaps you grew up in a bad environment."
I've done everything Iv'e wanted to do in life. Cant blame the booze or the people that sold it to me. Cant blame my parents. Cant blame the school and sure as hell wasnt bullied.
Why can't drivers be responsible? Every one of them I've seen were old enough to buy cigarettes. If you can buy cigarettes, you should be able to buy beer. Anywhere they sell cigarettes, they should sell beer.
I guess now, in America, they want you to be a weak, watered down version of an adult. My grandfather told me years ago something profound, "The TRUTH is always simple." Years ago, the old farts would call you Boy until you proved you could be responsible for yourself. THEN you were a man. Now, you can buy cigarettes at a certain age, join the military and risk life and limb for your country at another age, but cant buy beer until you reach another. It's a crying shame when you need BigBrother to tell you when and how you can be a man.
I think I prefer to be responsible for myself. All you yahoos who think we can't be responsible, stay in your safe, little world. Dont believe you can handle the real world.MrEd, landstar8891, jbee and 1 other person Thank this. -
It is very interesting to see such frustration over a simple question. As a responsible adult that should be held responsible for their actions why are you in such defense of a mind altering substance that is constantly being abused by the less scrupulous drivers. I find it kind of odd that people will get so pissed at just the mention of removing alcohol from truck stops and fall back on the basic notion that it is freedom of choice and choose to ignore company policy or DOT regulations. How responsible is that?

How long have you been driving with a CDL A..?

Communism. The very first lie that the guvment sold you on was 'All men were equal." If all were equal, could anyone ever be successful?
