It should be hilarious, it was a joke. As far as turning a wrench, He just totally rebuilt the whole Truck himself. Including swapping and overhauling the engine. it’s been well documented on here for quite some time. The first thing he hires out, they tried to rip him off. That’s what makes it so frustrating. There’s Mechanics who also Drive Trucks, and Drivers who do mechanic work. It’s always the know it alls, that act as if they’re smarter, that show their true ignorance. People aren’t stupid, they figure it out quick.

Thank you for the intelligent and eloquent response. I always find it interesting that words speak volumes about their author.

Back when the Firestone tires were having problems my buddy's mom took her car into the dealer.

We did not see her a lot because she lived up in the mountains so about 3 months later we get looking at her car.

Yep the michelins were gone and they put the exploding firestones on her car.

Years ago my family thought a brand new Volkswagen. At 5,000 miles the water pump went. We were reluctant to take it to the dealer because we do everything ourselves but it was under warranty so we took it there.

When we got it back we saw that they took the new alternator off and put an old alternator on it.

I know a guy that broke down in the middle of nowhere and shortly after he got home started having electrical problems. So he took the top off of his battery box and he saw that the four brand new batteries that were in there were replaced with four older batteries...

It is always the people that have no mechanical abilities and no mechanical experience that would never recognize something has been tampered with. And of course when they live in a tiny little bubble their lack of experience and lack of knowledge makes them gullible enough to think that never happens.

And yes next time I will do my own alignment.

When Firestone tires were having problems? Was that the Firestone 500's around 1972? Maybe the 721's in the 80's? 7 to 1 they will fail. Excuse me as this is a truck forum and those were car tires.

I did tire work, when I was 17 yrs old. 1981, Mostly split rim Semi Truck tires, and some car tires. Steel belts were a relatively new thing. Most older cars, still had bias tires. In 6 mos. our little shop replaced 3 nearly new steel belted blow outs. All 3 were Michelin’s on Cadillacs. They’ve obviously overcome this problem. To this day, I won’t run a Michelin. Great tires, excellent wear. But the sudden blow outs, for no reason, made no sense at all. In 1983, my step father had a Firestone blowout on a brand new Ford, not once, but twice. He wouldn’t run Firestone’s after that. Long before the big debacle in the 90s, when Ford and Firestone, who were related by marriage. Parted ways. I’m amused by the old tire advertisements from 20’s, 30’s,40s especially. Every ad boasts the greatest technology etc. It’s still the same today. Eco green tires, etc. Bunch of hype, mostly. But interesting.

Just making the point that sometimes people take vehicles to be repaired and things disappear,, car or truck.

Interesting. Now, before leaving a shop, I’m going to start checking my batteries and looking for swapped parts! It never occurred to me that this could happen. There are certainly evil people out there.

A few months ago, I noticed the guy at a Boss tire shop stole my rewards points. The receipt he gave me showed that a certain amount of points were given to me, but I never handed the guy my Pilot rewards card. I’ve also noticed this at some Love’s tire shops.

How are we supposed to know which shop steals parts from a truck? Unless someone has already reported it on some online review, there is no way to know, which is why I said I’ll start checking my parts more carefully for any theft. By the way, I wasn’t arguing with you. You must be mistaking me with another member.
