Can I ask you what kind of wear issue you are getting?

3 axle alignment, kingpins, tie rod assembly, one spindle(i think) and wheel bearings, and one drive axle had to be bent.

Left steer wearing even but fast. Wore current one out with less then 45k miles. Right steer keeps cupping inner edge and its pulled to the right since I pulled it out of shop, which they blamed on the tires at the time. Drives are doing good but starting to show odd wear again after having the housing straightened so not sure if there is room for improvement there.

Not trying to make fun of you, but it’s like when you go to the doctor, and he says you got this, this, and that. I’d start looking for other opinions from medical specialists.

Back when I had steer tire wear problems, the main problem ended up being one of my steer axle leaf springs being flatter than the other one. My steer tires are now wearing evenly, but one steer is wearing off faster than the other by about 3/32, which is not bad. I’ll just rotate my steers eventually.

By the way, once your tires experience irregular tire wear, it may be difficult to correct, and sometimes impossible. You can try rotating or flipping tires or even increasing the PSI to 110 cold to reduce tire wear on the edges.

    Ok
Mine is a 2007 Columbia single axel and the guy in Ocala has a ton of experience with our trucks.
My opinion is you most likely have a scrub angle issue with your drives.
When this happens you have to counter steer with your steers to keep in the road.
This greatly accelerates the wear of usually one steer tire over the other.
If you go to the MD alignment web page go all the way to the bottom and click on technical bulletins.
I would recommend that you start at the bottom and click on each one of them and read them, there’s a ton of great alignment information there.
I believe it’s bulletin #6 that pertains to the issue you are having.

This will be the 3rd set of steers since alignment and drives were put on after as well. They are doing good for what I do but are starting to show similar wear to before, just at a reasonable and bearable rate. Around half left with about 85k miles on a local truck so I'm content for the most part. If I could get similar life out of steers I would be happy at this point.

    PE_T and Hulld Thank this.

    @cat13
Did you see the accident down near me on 75 in Sarasota yesterday?
North bound cement truck blew a steer tire and it sucked him across the median thru the guard rail and in to south bound traffic.
He collided with a car and ended up on his side.
No one was killed thank god but as you already know steer tire issues need to be corrected immediately.
