Because we started with 122, 82 was Disqualified, and so only 60 or so made it to the second week (Where they start with road and backing skills)... and 2 was Disqualified during the second week, and than only 57 or so actually graduated..

I think there is a Roadmaster Drivers School somewhat close to you, Dunn NC. I don't know much about them but have seen others on here post that they attended there. You might check into them as see what they have to offer. Ask what companies hire from there.

As a couple other people stated, Roehl offers training as well as Millis Transfer but you will have to check and see if they hire out of your area.

    Good luck to you.

You will find that you learn most of the important things when you are on your own. All the safety rules and shifting is elementary. What really needs to be learned is how to load a load, axle a load just by looking in the back of a trailer. Spinning around a 53 in the middle of a closed road, dealing with shippers and receivers and learning not to take their crap, dragging a loaded trailer with a flat for 50 miles and not getting stopped in order to get it repaired and not stoppped by the police, how to stretch your hours to get a decent 3500 miles a week etc. All the safety is ok, but it gets to be old and repetitive due to the new generation of truckers and fed rules. Some of the old "cowboy' needs to be put back into trucking or your going to make about as much as the guy flipping burgers and micky d's. Lastly, if you need to get home everyweekend your not going to make good money-make money, but not big bucks. You have to be out there running unless your with UPS.
